This four-star boutique hotel and restaurant will welcome us with Prosecco and a wonderful three-course meal.

Built in the 13th century, Château Le Cagnard is an exceptional stone dwelling and is a part of the city wall. Its history is closely tied to that of the Château Grimaldi, which dates back to the 14th century. The Guard room in particular, with its arched fireplace, is evidence of its Medieval heritage, a time under which Knights protected the village and its Château.

The American Club of Lisbon was founded in 1947, shortly after the end of WWII, by a group of Portuguese and Americans who wanted to establish a permanent organization to perpetuate the friendly relations between the U.S. and Portugal. The American Club has gone through various cycles since that creation 75 years ago, from periods where many American business persons came to Portugal to manage subsidiaries of American companies, followed by periods when American companies realized it was far better to staff American companies in Portugal with local managers, bringing us to the present where we see a growing percentage of Americans choosing to move to Portugal for reasons other than business.

We have always welcomed Americans, Portuguese, and representatives of other nations in striving to accomplish our missions, as defined in our statutes:
    - To promote closer relations, mutual respect and cooperation between the peoples of the United States of America and Portugal, and
    - To promote the relationship between citizens of the United States of America and Portuguese citizens and of other nationalities residing in Portugal.

Seventy-five years! An impressive record, which we want to celebrate with all the ceremony that it deserves, with the American Club 75th Anniversary Charity Gala at the Palacio Hotel in Estoril on Saturday, October 22, 2022, beginning at 7.30pm with a cocktail reception. Photos and 360 Degree video podium for the guests will be during this time. At 8:30pm you will be invited to the dining room for a 4-course dinner with interruptions for speeches and guest singers.

It will be a wonderful event, black tie and evening dresses, with superb food and drink and live entertainment. You are encouraged to invite guests to come to the event, the cost is 160€ per person for Members and Guests. There will be tables of 8 available for those of you coming with friends.

Registration is now open, just click below.

The ACL will create Membership cards for all the American Club of Riviera and their guests attending our event, everyone can enjoy our Club discounts. As we approach the date, we will communicate more about the event. www.americancluboflisbon.com

Regarding the Gala, it is 3 months away so we are still in pre-production. All I can disclose right now is that there will be orchestra (21 ensemble), raffles and DELTA Airlines will be gaming flights to the U.S (you all need to bring your phones to the Gala)

Those planning on attending could you please let me know after you have registered on the American Club of Lisbon website and whether you will be attending just for the Gala or staying for the weekend via email at president@americanclubriviera.com
