We begin our visit at Fragonard La Fabrique des Fleurs with a olfactory workshop entitled Narcissus "Flower of the Year, " where you will learn about the use of this flower in perfumes and create and customize your own 12ml Eau de Toilette.
We will then continue on to the Usine Historique Fragonard where our guided tour gives us an opportunity to discover the mysteries of traditional perfume making. During our tour we will gain an understanding of how a perfume is crafted, beginning with the choice of raw materials, extraction and distillation on through to packaging the finished products. We will also learn about the creative process and the importance of « Le Nez » or The Nose in the formulation of the scent. Traditional machines that have been in use since the founding of the company in 1926, such as the copper stills and those used in the soap workshops will provide an interesting insight into the historical, social and cultural aspects of the working conditions that prevailed in family-run perfume factories through the mid-twentieth century.
Our tour ends with a visit of the Perfume Museum with exhibits that trace the world of perfume from antiquity to the present day. Precious perfumery objects (Egyptian blush spoons, medieval pomanders, etc.) are showcased alongside paintings and antique Provençal furniture.
You will have time to browse in the chic boutique before we depart for our lunch at Le Boulevard, where we will be welcomed by Magali et Vincent.
