Dear Members and Friends,
In partnership with the France-United States Nice Association, the American Club of the Riviera is pleased to invite you to a special literary and historical event featuring ACR member and author Philippe Esvelin.
Philippe will present his book Winged Commandos, the result of extensive research across the United States, where he interviewed veterans and uncovered the fascinating story of the American use of gliders during the Second World War. His work brings together hundreds of photographs, rare documents, and detailed maps, offering a vivid account of this lesser-known chapter of history. Through personal stories and portraits of veterans, the book offers a unique and moving perspective on wartime experiences.
The lecture will last approximately one and a half hours, followed by time for questions and discussion. Guests are welcome to attend the lecture only, or to continue the experience with a convivial lunch afterward.
